Introducing the Karla Kay Cancer Screening Fund
A New Charity Dedicated to Early Cancer Detection
The Karla Kay Cancer Screening Fund, a newly formed 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has been established with the mission of providing access to life-saving cancer screenings for individuals who might otherwise be unable to afford them. Inspired by the late Karla Kay Poulalion’s powerful message, “Scan while you can,” the fund seeks to honor her legacy by ensuring that no one misses the chance for early detection due to financial barriers.
Karla Poulalion’s battle with cancer was a stark reminder of the importance of early screening. By the time she was diagnosed, her cancer had already progressed to stage four. Reflecting on her experience, Karla expressed her heartfelt wish to prevent others from facing the same fate. Her husband, Mark Poulalion, and her brother, Russ Ray Rollins, turned this wish into action by founding the Karla Kay Cancer Screening Fund. Their shared goal is to raise awareness about early detection and provide the resources necessary to make screenings accessible to everyone.
“Early detection saves lives,” said Russ Ray Rollins, a well-known talk show host and advocate. “If Karla had been able to get her screening sooner, her outcome might have been different. This charity is our way of turning her wish into a reality and helping others avoid the pain of late-stage diagnoses.”
The Karla Kay Cancer Screening Fund aims to partner with “Life Imaging FLA” , location Orlando, to cover the costs of screenings for individuals in need. Through community outreach, fundraising events, and public education initiatives, the charity hopes to reduce the number of late-stage cancer diagnoses and save lives.
Join us in carrying forward Karla’s legacy by ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to “Scan while you can.” Together, we can make early detection accessible to all and help save lives.
